There are regular Monday evening walks in the summer months starting at 18.45 in the Greasley, Watnall and Kimberley areas. These are found on the Nottinghamshire Guided Walks Partnership website www.nottsguidedwalks.co.uk along with lots of other usefull information.
Robin Hood Way is the first long distance footpath to be established in Nottinghamshire, the route passes through very pleasant, undulating Nottinghamshire countryside. It includes urban as well as rural aspects; the walk includes many points of interest. There is a very useful book published by the Robin Hood Way Association giving details of the route and line drawn maps with many points interest mentioned.
The Group walked the first part of Robin Hood Way on 3rd April 2016, a beautiful, warm, sunny day. This enjoyable walk took us from the Robin Hood statue by Nottingham Castle to Wollaton Park, Bramcote Park and on into Kimberley.
The second part of Robin Hood Way was walked on June 4th 2016, this included Bulwell, Leen Valley and Bestwood. It is surprising how much green space is to be found in our local area and so close to city streets.
Further progress will be made along Robin Hood Way making use of public transport, these walks may be included in forthcoming programmes. If anyone has any queries about tackling this walk please contact
Susan is now one of the wardens looking after the Bramcote - Kimberley section of Robin Hood Way.
It is vital that members come forward with new ideas to attract new people to our Group, perhaps you are someone who would be willing to devise bus walks or you would be prepared to lead on a coach walk. Please remember the Group is run by volunteers so everything depends on the members.
