Walk and Talk

Ramblers Association are working with the Walking for Health Scheme.  Broxtowe Walk and Talk is part of the local Walking for Health Scheme.  At a local level Broxtowe Ramblers are working with Broxtowe Walk and Talk to establish closer links between our two groups.  Walk and Talk participants who wish to join our Broxtowe Ramblers walks are most welcome.

Broxtowe Ramblers may also like to join the Walk and Talk programme.  Walks are free, no need to book, everyone is welcome.

Walk and Talk offers regular short walks in the Broxtowe Borough.  They give you the chance to improve your health, make new friends and get to know the local environment. 

Two trained leaders will be present during the walks. One will lead the walk and the other will follow at the rear of the group.

You will need to complete brief health and registration forms before your first walk. On subsequent walks you will need to sign the register. To allow time for this please arrive a few minutes before the start of the walk.

Dress sensibly for the weather and wear appropriate footwear for the conditions, bring a bottle of water especially in warmer weather.

Smoking is not allowed on the walks.  Dogs are not allowed, with the exception of guide dogs.

If you have any health concerns then please check with your doctor before taking part and please bring any medication you may need.

Children under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.

All walkers are welcome to join the group for refreshments following the walk.

Broxtowe Short walks: Between 45 minutes and one hour.  Good surfaces on a fairly flat route with no stiles.  They are suitable for newcomers to physical activity. These are on Mondays at 11am and Wednesdays at 2pm from Horse and Groom in Moorgreen NG16 2FE

Broxtowe Longer walks: Up to 90 minutes, along a mixture of canal towpaths, lanes, footpaths and public rights of way across fields.  Surfaces may be uneven or muddy in places, there may be slopes and some stiles.  Please wear appropriate footwear for the conditions. These take place on Thursdays starting at 10:30.

Walk and Talk is a partnership of local organisations and individuals who aim to promote walking for health and enjoyment.

Aspiring leaders might like to start leading with Walk and Talk group and progress to leading a walk for Broxtowe Ramblers.
