How to join a walk

Anyone is welcome to join a walk, you do not need to be a member. However we would prefer it if you join Ramblers after 3 or 4 walks.

If you are not used to walking it may be better to try a shorter walk first (4or 5 miles) before trying our longer walks.

Some walks are fairly flat and some are more strenuous with several stiles. There is a brief description in the Walk Programme. Please contact the walk leader if you require more information.

Please bring a packed lunch and a drink. Refreshment stops cannot be guaranteed. Please be aware that photos are sometimes taken on walks for publicity purposes including facebook if you are unhappy about this please let the photographer know.

Please wear appropriate waterproof clothing and stout waterproof footwear.

It is advisable to carry an emergency contact card with you when you walk with the group. This should have details of relative or friend who can be contacted in the event of an emergency.

Children under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult e.g. parent, grandparent.

Dogs must be under control and preferably on a lead. The dog owner has complete responsibility and liability for any incident relating to their dog. Please clean up after your dog. Some walks are not suitable for dogs, if in doubt please contact the walk leader.

When out walking please respect the Countryside Code: Respect the needs of local people e.g. don't block driveways or paths with your vehicle.  Leave gates and property as you find them and please follow paths unless wider access is available e.g. Open Access land.  Protect the natural environment; leave no trace of your visit and take your litter home.  More information is available on Ramblers website.

In the summer months there are walks organised in the Kimberley, Greasley and Watnall area, these take place on a Monday evening starting at 18.45 and are of approx. 1 and a half hour to 2 hours duration. These are organised as part of the Notts Guided Walks Partnership found here
